HABITUAL
Habitual is the result of a mix of technical speed metal and an intense thrash and death metal brutality. The band members have each been through many bands in the search for something that was lacking. Now, that something has been found, and the four are ready to move out and strike with military precision.
Steve Coen (vocals) founded the band and enlisted Al (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals) in early 2001 in the band's original incarnation.In its current lineup, the band is fleshed out with the help of the percussive powerhouse Cory. Jayson, the low end machine, and Jerry(Guitar). Together, the band has created many original songs and continues to grow as a single unit, always advancing in pursuit of the common passion for intense live performance.
Habitual is always ready to perform, and have already played venues in many cities and towns across Indiana, including Indianapolis, Columbus, Kokomo, Evansville, Terre Haute, and many others, and have also played out-of-state in Flint, MI, and the nationally recognized I-Rock Nightclub in Detroit, MI. When not finding new territory, the band regularly plays to a packed house at Hangar 18 in Peru, IN.
The sound is a mix of influences from bands such as Slayer, Sepultura, Kreator, Death, In Flames, Megadeth, Burton-era Metallica, Iron Maiden and newer metal acts like Shadows Fall and Lamb of God, among many other influences. The composite sound has been described by many as Technical Thrash, but whatever the name, it's Heavy Metal to the core.
